MU Skynet is a classic Season 3 server for friends: five classes up to their third class, no master levels and no cash shop. Experience is fast (x500 at the start): levelling from 10 to 400 for a reset takes about one to two hours of active play. This page gets you from nothing to your first kills.

1. Make an account#

Open the sign-up page and pick a login name (3 to 10 letters or digits) and a password (6 to 20 characters). You also need the invite code from the group chat.

2. Install the game#

There are two ways to play. Both use the same account and the same characters.

Windows clientBrowser
What you getThe full game, sound and musicThe same game in a browser tab
DownloadOne zip from the home page164 MB on the first visit, then cached
UpdatesLauncher.exe updates the game by itselfAlways the newest version on the site
Needs64-bit WindowsDesktop Chrome or Edge; phones aren't supported yet

Windows client. Unzip the archive anywhere, for example C:\Games\MuSkynet, and run Launcher.exe. The launcher checks the files, downloads what changed, shows whether the server is online and starts the game when you press Play. Always start the game through Launcher.exe, not Main.exe, so you never play an old version. (Until 28 October 2026 the launcher was called Play.exe; it renames itself on its next start.)

Browser. Open skynet-mu.net/play in desktop Chrome or Edge. The page tells you if your browser lacks something the game needs.

3. Create a character#

Five classes can be made from the start screen, each with its own class quests:

ClassPlays asThird class
Dark KnightMelee fighter, the toughest at the startBlade Master
Dark WizardArea and single-target magicGrand Master
Fairy ElfBows and support buffs for the partyHigh Elf
Magic GladiatorSword and magic in one; needs a level 220 character on the accountDuel Master
Dark LordFighter with pets (Dark Horse, Dark Raven); needs a level 250 character on the accountLord Emperor

Summoner and Rage Fighter don't exist here.

4. Your first hour#

  1. Get the Elf Soldier's buff. She stands in Lorencia and buffs every character that hasn't reset yet, at any level. Talk to her before you leave town.
  2. Hunt near town. Lorencia's monsters are levels 2 to 19, Noria's 3 to 18 and Elvenland's 4 to 48. At x500 you level fast, but never more than one level per kill.
  3. Spend your points. Press C and use the + buttons, or type /addstr 50, /addagi 50, /addvit 50, /addene 50 (and /addcmd for a Dark Lord).
  4. Move on early. Press M to warp. Where to level lists every map with its monster levels and warp price.
  5. Turn on the MU Helper. It is free here: press Z for its settings and Home to start it. See MU Helper.
  6. Log in every day. 15 active minutes in the game a day count towards the daily rewards.

Useful to know from day one#

  • Event times are in UTC. Press O in the game, or see Event schedule, which also shows them in your own time.
  • Potions stack up to 255 in one slot, and drops stay on the ground for one minute.
  • Every account has the extended vault with 8 pages, and a jewel bank.
  • Read What's different here once: it lists everything we changed from classic Season 3.
  • The endgame is the Tier Maps: party dungeons with a boss, opened by your Combat Power.
  • We are still in the test period; a few things are cheaper or stronger than they will be after the wipe. See Test period.
